HUMBLE BEGINNINGS... EXPLOSIVE GROWTH
Christ Sanctuary International officially started with a handful of people desiring to have fellowship in 2002.
Under the leadership of Pastor Tucker Nsubuga Walugega. Services began underneath a plastic tarpaulin with rented chairs, mats, & a few benches. We had to run many times from the heavy, stormy rains, and other times hide from the scorching sun light.
God graced us with favour to rent a piece of land which we are still fellowshipping at to - date and we are planning to buy. The neighbours heard us sing, drum and enthusiastically share the message of the cross and couldn’t help but join us.
In the immediate neigbourhood there is a Stone quarry that’s right next to the church property, where many people split rocks for a living. Many of these people were demobilised soldiers, former rebels, drug dealers/addicts, thugs & all kinds of criminals.
To the amazement of society, many of these broken, grave criminals began to one by one give their lives to Jesus and He changed their entire life style.
The new converts from the quarry became a living public testimony of the saving and changing power of the Glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.
The whole society got concerned and amazed. The authorities witnessed a change in the community criminal records and confessed that the church was doing a lot of good faster and more effective than any of their law enforcing organs.
Their work became amazingly easy and they blessed its operations and existence. The quarry and its immediate surrounding began to be a safe and friendly place to walk through and work. Our neigbourhood could not ignore our presence in the community and many began identifying with us...The numbers grew from 8, 20, 40, 90, 150, 200, 350, 400.....and much more now...
In May 2003 we had to build a wooden sanctuary, roofed with tin to accommodate the ever- increasing numbers. We bought benches and more mats and began to use the building before it was even complete.
God continued to work miracles, signs and wonders in every worship service and numbers multiplied. We at times out maxed the sanctuary and later began to do two worship services.
In the wake of doing two worship services we realised that we needed more room to accommodate more souls, because we hadn't even done any gospel crusades/outreaches in all our immediate neighbourhood.
